Rochdale Town Hall is a Grade I listed building dating back to 1871. It is an example of some of the finest Victorian Gothic architecture the United Kingdom has to offer. Standing at a height of 190 feet and costing £160,000 to build, which in today’s money would be £14,630,000. It has been used on many occasions as a location for filming, most recently seen in Peaky Blinders.
Rochdale Football Club
Rochdale AFC are in League one, currently competing in the third tier of the English football League. Founded in 1907. Then moving into its current home Spotland stadium in 1920, when they was accepted into the football league. In recent years Rochdale have exceeded expectations in the FA cup qualifying for the 5th round in 2018. Going on to lose to Tottenham Hotspur in a replay.
Manchester Fire Museum
The Greater Manchester Fire Museum is located in Rochdale and was opened in 1983. After 3 years of hard work by off-duty members of the fire service, they converted an old workshop building at Rochdale fire station. The collection is made up of 23 large exhibits as well as many other firefighting items such as models, insignia, painting and uniforms.
